Go to a nice resaurant and order a Filet Mignon, medium is good.

There is no better piece of meat than this. Your body will love it!

mmmmmmmm baby! whoooo hooo!

Your body does not need to "ease into" getting back to chowing meat. Just start with the best and you'll keep coming back.

You've most probably already eaten non-vegetarian food, without realizing. So absolutely nothing will happen to you, except in your mind.
Go for it, start slowly if you prefer - depending where in the world you live, there are loads of excellent foodstuffs that won't even make your taste buds aware of your change.
Try some non-veg soups first, and with some chicken or fish.

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!
I would start out with some white meat, like chicken or turkey. Go buy the good organic stuff. Your body is already going to not be happy with the meat, you don't want it to have to deal with the hormones and other chemicals your not used to. Find a nice recipe and cook it and call over a friend. Try a small bite of the meat, and then share the rest with your friend so that you don't waste! Wait a few days or weeks, until you feel comfortably, then try it again.
Be very cautious though. I know a guy who was raised vegetarian, and had become vegan a few years ago. He went out to eat and ordered a meal with out meat. They accidentally got a piece in there and he had to be taken to the hospital. That is the only time I've herd of it being that severe, but you should still be cautious.

If you're getting sick, that's a sign from your body to stop! You are putting something in your body that it's not used to and you will do a lot of damage to yourself by trying to eat something it doesn't agree with.

Don't try to change your diet based on how people might perceive you. They don't have to accept your reasons for being a vegetarian, just respect it.

If you are going to try to be a flesh eater I suggest you start off with organic meats/poultry etc.. NOT fast food garbage. No wonder you were ill.!!!

As far as the people you will be staying with, they may surprise you. They can learn from you & may really enjoy the experience. Give them a chance. They wouldn't be having you in their home if they were not interested & open minded.

I would suggest U stay vegetarian.. meat is gross awful bloody horrible tasting.. I don't like it.. but had to eat the horrid stuff while growing up. My parents told me when I become adult then I can eat what I want. I asked my dad when a person becomes an adult and he said 21. I thought I was stuck eating meat that horrid stuff until then but my Aunt Scollie she helped me not eat it when I became 19. My parents mostly served pork & in Seventh Day Religion that is a no no meat.. it's considered unclean.. as pigs nearly eat anything! Suggest U try fake meat first! Meats are full of bacterias like ecoli if not treated properly. Meat isn't a safe item! Also if U never ate meat before it would most likely clog your arteries cause your system isn't use to it!

god that *****. couldn't you just explain to the host family your diet? exchange programs are to get two different cultures to interact and begin to understand one another. vegetarianism is a part of your culture. share it!

Initially, it did, some ten pounds. But then I found that vegetarian meals can be soooooooo delicious, too, so I ended up gaining some of the weight back. My body had perhaps adjusted to the meat-free diet.

But I'm sure that if I had stayed an omnivore I would have weighed so much more than I do now.

FYI, I'm 40 years old, five feet tall, and 102 lbs.
