By mistake I ate non vegetarian food on ganesh chaturti today. We do not bring Ganesha idol at home this day, but do aarti /prayers and make modok for offering.
I feel I have done a wrong thing,
Please suggest how can I be forgiven for this.
Can we postpone offering sweets and doing pooja to next day.

You can put a silver coin on the street corner at an important crossroads.

You are not going to be punished for doing this; we do not believe in a god that dishes out rewards and punishments for right or wrong behaviour. The important thing is the effect your actions have on your consciousness and your mental connection to the divine. I would say don’t worry about it, just go through the rest of the day with Ganesha in mind and offering your mind and your actions to the divine. If it is weighing heavily on you, you can postpone the puja to the next day, but you don’t have to as long as you have the right mental attitude.
